Obituary of Garth C. Lax
Garth C. Lax, 77, died unexpectedly at his home in Liverpool, NY, on Monday, October 3, 2016. Garth was raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and completed his doctorate in electrical engineering at Syracuse University. Garth worked many years for General Electric and Lockheed Martin.
Garth will be profoundly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Diana (Hicks) Lax, and their beloved dog, Wilson. He and Diana enjoyed many years of traveling throughout the United States. Garth is also survived by sisters-in-law Claudia (Ray) Schubert of Jarrettsville, MD and Patricia (Webb) Bartz of Marcellus; nieces Cynthia (John) Kesler of Baldwinsville, Terra Abee of Camillus and Gretchen (Eric) Hoffend of Las Vegas, NV; nephew Jeffrey Schubert of Virginia Beach, VA; one great-niece and three great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday, October 10, 2016 in St. Francis Xavier Church, One West Main Street, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
There will be no calling hours.
In Garth's memory, contributions to The Humane Association of CNY, 4915 ½ West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088 would be gratefully appreciated.
