Obituary of Elaine M. Beamish

Elaine M. Beamish, 77, of Marcellus, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Van Duyn in Syracuse. She was born in Fredonia, NY on April 17, 1938 to the late Felix and Stella Lokietek Gworek. Elaine grew up in Fredonia and was a graduate of Fredonia High School. She worked at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY prior to moving to Marcellus in 1970, where she was a homemaker. Elaine enjoyed reading. Although she had many roles in life, her most cherished was raising and caring for her family. She was the most amazing and loving wife, mother and grandmother that anyone could ask for. Elaine will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Robert Gworek. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Robert Beamish; her daughters Theresa (John) Douglass of SC, Kathleen (Richard) Jenkins of Camillus, and son James (Teresa) Beamish of Melrose, NY; her brother Donald (Verna) Gworek of Fredonia; and her grandchildren, Sarah Waldby, Richelle Jenkins, Kyle Jenkins, Rachel Beamish, Gabriella Beamish, and Colleen Beamish. Calling hours: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main St., Marcellus, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, 1 W. Main St., Marcellus, NY, followed by burial at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
