Obituary of Barbara Amidon
Barbara Amidon, 98, passed away at home December 14, 2024 with family by her side. A lifelong resident of the area, Barbara graduated from Marcellus Central School District and devoted her life to farming alongside her husband, Robert Amidon, who predeceased her. Barbara was a long-standing member of the Cedarvale Home Bureau group. She was famous for making the best molasses cookies in town.
Barbara leaves behind a loving family: sons Fred (Laura) and Robert (Jill) Amidon; her daughter Vicki (Wayne) Recore; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister Constance Amidon and several nieces and nephews. Beside her husband Robert, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace Bishop, brothers Richard, Albert, and John Bishop. In keeping with her wishes, services were private.
