Obituary of Diana C. Toth

Diana C. Toth, 69, of Navarino, NY passed away on Tuesday from complications related to a stroke she suffered in November 2023. She was born in Brooklyn, NY before moving upstate as a child. Diana spent her working career in banking, working for Chase Manhattan Bank in Albany and Syracuse, and most recently worked for M&T Bank as a teller trainer. In her volunteer life she taught First Aid and CPR for Red Cross before leaving due to a disability.

Diana had a lifelong love of horses, getting her first horse as a teenager. She settled on Appaloosas as her favorite and fulfilled a lifelong dream to have a horse farm after moving to Syracuse in 1982. For many years Diana raised Appaloosas and especially enjoyed working with the young stock. For many years she and her husband enjoyed taking the horses for a ride over the fields and trails on their 65 acre farm. While horses were her favorite, she had a soft spot for all animals. After adopting a Boxer from Second Chance Boxer Rescue, Diana became very active in the organization and over the years was a foster home to a total of 39 Boxers while they waited for their forever homes.

Though medical issues kept her from being as active as she would have liked, Diana was extremely proud of her membership in Morning Star Chapter #289 Order of the Eastern Star. She participated whenever she was able and drew inspiration from the biblical heroines of the Order.

Surviving are her husband, William H. "Bill" Toth; sons Jeremy (Kat) and Jonathan Toth, and three spoiled rotten Boxers...Connor, Sarah and Hermione. She was predeceased by her parents James and Joyce Mantor; brother Steven Mantor, and sister Barbara Austin.

To celebrate Diana's life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus, NY 13108. An Eastern Star Service will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service, both held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to either Morning Star Chapter #289 OES, 46 E. Main St., Marcellus, NY 13108 or Shriners Children's New England, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
