William P. Latimer Obituary

William P. Latimer, 80, of Marcellus, passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, on Friday, April 26, 2024.


Bill is survived by his sister Barbara Bleskoski of Rochester; half-brother Robert (Laura) Higgens of Long Island, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Janice and Mary Ann.


Bill was born in Syracuse, son of the late Henry and Virginia Latimer. He graduated from Marcellus Central Schools in 1961, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era on board the USS Shadwell and was a member of the Marcellus American Legion Ralph Share Post 297. He worked as a machinist retiring from Prestolite. Bill enjoyed sitting at his desk tinkering with anything that needed fixing. If he didn't have the correct tool, Bill would make it himself. He was a train enthusiast and made his own metal train city.


An American Legion Service and US Navy Funeral Honors for Bill will be 11am Thursday, May 16, 2024 in the chapel at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, NY.
