Obituary of Kathleen M. Reagan
Kathleen Mae (Stewart) Reagan, 88, of Marcellus, NY passed away at home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, six years to the day her beloved husband Tommy passed.
Kathleen was born in Auburn, NY on May 14, 1935, daughter of the late James H. and Irene Stewart of Marcellus. She was a loving wife and mother of nine children and lived her entire life in Marcellus. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and a graduate of Marcellus High School.
She met the love of her life, James "Tommy" Reagan, Jr. in 1947 and they married on September 19, 1952, ultimately spending almost 71 years together. Shortly after they married, Kathy worked at Park-Brannock shoe store on South Salina Street in Syracuse as a cashier and typist while Tommy served in the US Army. As if having nine children of her own was not enough, she welcomed all her children's friends into her home which had become the neighborhood playground for many years. Kathleen was also a huge Yankees and Syracuse University fan.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Tommy in 2018; siblings Jimmy, Winnie Kelly and Jeanette Becerra; son John "Jack" in 2016; granddaughter Carrie Reagan in 2010 and her son-in-law Jim Girard in 2023.
Kathleen is survived by her children Terry (Garry) of Marcellus, Peggy of Atlanta, Dan (Adele) of Marcellus, Patty (Tom) of Phoenix, AZ, Bob (Manuela) of Highland, IN, Bill (Joanne) of Marcellus, Katy (James) of Solvay and Joe of Marcellus; her daughter-in-law Michele of Elbridge; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held on January 30, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation of CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088, whom the family wishes to thank for their support during her final days.
Contributions may also be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208 (In memory of Kathleen's late husband James T. Reagan, Jr.).
