Nancy Thorpe

Obituary of Nancy L. Thorpe

Nancy Lee (Vile) Thorpe, 80, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 surrounded by her family and an overwhelming amount of love. Born on September 3, 1943 in Auburn, NY she grew up on Rose Hill in Marcellus, NY and was the proud daughter of Harold "Jim" Vile and Doris E. (Weller) Vile. She lived in Marcellus until 1970 before moving to Elbridge, NY where she raised her 4 boys. Nancy worked at Eden Wire Mill in Jordan, NY which would later become Laribee Wire before she retired. She loved to country line dance, go for walks, and drive around to different places to sightsee and explore. She loved to walk the shores of Lake Ontario hunting for unique stones that she would bring home to decorate her yard. Nancy loved spending time with her grandkids and always had one or more of them in her car listening to country music, laughing the time away and traveling all over the state. She had a joy for living life to the fullest, and had a laugh, like her mom Doris and her sisters, that could light up any room. Nancy had a love for all animals especially cats and dogs and was always adding them to her home.

Nancy is survived by her 4 sons Rodney (Jackie), Ricky, Rory (Jennifer) and Regy (Amy); her grandchildren Jeremy, Matthew, Ella, Gage, Gale, Gabby, Jesse, Summer and Jake; 4 great-grandchildren; her sisters Monica Evans (Don), Lorna Hill, Dorees Mulvihill and Sonya Vile-Daily (Bill); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
