Obituary of Robert J. O'Connor

Robert J. O'Connor, 87, of Marcellus passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. Born in Rome, NY, Bob moved to Marcellus in 1980. He was a member of the New York Air National Guard, called to active duty with the Air Force during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. Bob was a 1990 graduate of Empire State College and worked many years at Carrier Corp. For many years Bob was a volunteer at Community General Hospital and enjoyed being a member of the Tom Dooley Choraliers.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Renee; his children Patrick, Kathleen (Keith) Lawrence, Peter (Keri) and Michael (Melissa); seven grandchildren and extended family of John (Nancy) Bragger and children.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4 to 6pm at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. Service and burial will be private.

The family would like to thank and acknowledge the loving care received from the 6C staff at the VA Medical Center.
