Pete was born June 3, 1956 and is survived by Jennifer, Cate, and Dan Griffin of Marcellus, and by his sisters Chris Reese, Carole Gondek, Patrice Quinn and their families. Pete lived most of his life in the Syracuse area, attended St. Margaret's School, and graduated from St. John the Baptist, where junior ROTC prepared him for his enlistment in the U.S. Navy. Part of his sea duty was in the Mediterranean and he enjoyed being stationed in Maine. Pete worked most of his adult life for the FAA as an air traffic controller. He liked living in Marcellus and was proud to help build youth soccer fields and run the youth soccer tournament. Like his dad, Pete enjoyed golfing and loved playing in the Alvord House Open and his golf league. What he was known for most was making people laugh.

Calling hours will be held this Thursday, September 21, from 2 to 3:45p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus followed by an American Legion Service and U.S. Navy Honors. No suit and tie, please wear your favorite golf shirt.
