Obituary of Jean O. Martin

Jean O. Martin, 86, of Onondaga Hill, died Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at Loretto. Born in 1928 to Oliver Daniels Olrich and Charlesa Kellogg, Jean grew up in Syracuse and resided for many years in Marcellus. Most recently she was a resident of Ahepa 33 Apartments in Onondaga. She retired from Community General Hospital in 1993 following a 30 plus year career; then returned there to work part time for several more years while also volunteering for more than 1,000 hours. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and traveling. Jean was predeceased by a son, Daniel J Martin in 2013, and is survived by sons Stephen (Nancy) and Jeffrey; daughters Kathleen Kelly (William) and Karen Howard (William); daughter-in-law Donna Hayes Martin; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm, followed by the funeral service, both held Friday, April 10th at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, 750 E. Adams Street-CAB 326, Syracuse, NY 13210.
