Obituary of Mary Bostick

Mary Margaret (Sobolewski) Bostick, 75, of Marcellus, died March 12, 2022 at home after a year-long battle with multiple blood cancers. She was the daughter of the late Karol and Valerie Sobolewski. Mary was born and grew up in Syracuse, NY, graduated from Sacred Heart High School and the University of Northern Colorado. Mary earned her Master's Degree in Education from Syracuse University. She taught school in a variety of districts and grades before settling down as a second-grade teacher at KCH Elementary in Marcellus until her retirement in 2007.

Mary had a lifelong love for travel, sharing many great adventures around the world with family and friends. She met her husband of 47 years, Bill, while teaching in Venezuela.

Mary was a pianist. She adored music and the arts, sharing this love with her family. As a lifelong learner, she learned to quilt in retirement, and created many beautiful pieces.

Mary was a loving mother and grandmother, survived by her husband Bill; children Sara and Mark; stepson Newt (Tina Dumas) Jordan; grandchildren Ella, Catrina and Robert; her brother John (Denise) Sobolewski and nephew Christopher Sobolewski.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6pm Thursday, March 17th at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated the next morning at 9:30am Friday, March 18th in St. Francis Xavier Church, One W. Main Street, Marcellus.
