Obituary of Robert E. Weaver

Robert E. "Bob" Weaver earned his angel wings July 3, 2021. He was born in Syracuse on January 28, 1933 to Elmer and Esther Weaver. He married his soul mate, Barbara on August 21, 1987.

Bob started his adult life in the U.S. Navy followed by working for NY Central Railroad for 10 years and then Prudential Insurance as an Insurance Man until he retired. He was a Mason Brother of the Memorial Lodge No 648 for 64 years.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother Warren Weaver. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his children Stephen Weaver (Donna), Linda Forth (Don), Jeanne Clary (Jim), Kristin Yeager (Frank) and Erika Vitthuhn (Paul Gunnison); 11 grandchildren and dozens of great-grandchildren.

Bob was a man with many passions. He loved ballroom dancing and often held an audience captivated when he and Barb took the dance floor. He loved sharing a glass of wine with family and friends while engaging in light-hearted conversation. Bob was an avid hunter, SU Basketball fan, and also loved spending winters in sunny Florida and summers at camp. He spent countless hours traveling around researching his family roots, and above all, loved people and spending time with his family.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 1 pm at University United Methodist Church, 1085 E. Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13210 immediately followed by a brief graveside service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to University United Methodist Church.
