Obituary of Muriel Curtis Kilcoyne

Muriel C. Kilcoyne, 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20 2020 with family by her side. She was born and raised in Navarino and lived there most of her life. For the last fourteen years, she has resided in Camillus, to be near her children. She was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School and Syracuse Secretarial School, and worked at John Deere and USF&G until her marriage in 1946. Muriel devoted the rest of her life to her husband and family as a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, and following S.U. football and basketball. She was a daily newspaper reader, always keeping up with current events and the latest in medical and scientific news. She was a member of the Navarino United Methodist Church for over 70 years. Muriel was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Leo, who died in 2015, and her siblings Letha Gardner, Bradley "Bud" Curtis, Pauline Curtis, and Thelma Whiting. Surviving Muriel are; children James (Colleen) Kilcoyne, Carol (Bruce) Parker and Susan Kilcoyne (Duane Coughenour); six grandchildren Lisa (Michael) Brosnan, Michael (Sammi Dickerman) Parker, Robert (Anna) Kilcoyne, Julie Kilcoyne, Holly (Michael) Schadt and Christopher (Bernadette) Burbank; nine great-grandchildren: Amya, Gia, Brody, Brooke, and Jordyn, Michael and Ryan, Birdie Louise, and Margaret; sister-in-law, Ruth Curtis, several nieces and nephews; and cousin Donna Stoddard. Services were private due to the Covid Pandemic. Burial at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
