Obituary of Margaret D. Flitcroft
Margaret J. "Peggy" (Dark) Flitcroft, 91, of Marcellus, passed away on June 4, 2020 at Upstate University Hospital. She was born October 11, 1928 in Syracuse, the only child of the late Edward and Clarabelle (Scanlon) Dark.
Peg grew up in Taunton and graduated from Central High School in Syracuse, and also from Auburn Community College. She worked at Marcellus Central School and many years in the Personnel Office at Onondaga Community College, retiring in 1987.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry W. (Bud) Flitcroft in 2015. They were married 67 years. They enjoyed their life in Marcellus for over 67 years, as well as their summer home near Henderson Harbor, Lake Ontario and winters in Jensen Beach, Florida (little Marcellus in the south)!
As a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marcellus, she served as an Elder and Deacon and a member of the Presbyterian Women's Group.
She is survived by three children Cathy Roberts of North Syracuse, Linda (Mike) Ball of Phoenix, NY and Scott (Laura) Flitcroft of Prescott, AZ; seven grandchildren Heidi Jones of Greenville, SC, Sarah Roberts of North Syracuse, Christopher (Nubia) Ball of West Chester, OH, Julie (Matt) Callard and Melissa (Aaron) Shupp both of New Hartford, NY, Heath (Renee) Flitcroft of Las Vegas, NV and Hallie (Angel) Morales of Casa Grande, AZ; 20 great-grandchildren Stephanie, Gerald, Terrel, Jermaine, Ana, Eva, Mia, Allen, Harper, Grace, Ella, Clara, Henry, Payton, Kendra, Colton, Noah, Jada, Kingston and Navarro; and three great-great-grandchildren Emma, Julius & Silas.
There will be no memorial service at this time. A private family service and burial will be at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
