Obituary of Kathryn M. Wakeman

Kathryn Mary (Parker) Wakeman, 62, longtime resident of Marcellus, NY, passed away December 28, 2019. Kate loved spending time with her family and friends, particularly her grandchildren. She was a compassionate person, devoting much of her life to caring for her family and others, including her recently deceased parents, Rita and Don. Kate enjoyed walking with her husband and dogs. She worked at Marcellus Driver Middle School and for several years at Gilbertis Cornerhouse, Webber's and Brian's Creekside restaurants. Surviving are her husband of 38 years Ross; their children Corrine (Michael) McAuliffe and Neil (Emily) Wakeman; two grandchildren Lucas McAuliffe and Lillian Wakeman; her brother Mark Parker; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6pm Friday, January 3rd at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated 10am Saturday, January 4th in St. Francis Xavier Church, One West Main Street, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Marcellus Park, P.O. Box 301, Marcellus, NY 13108.
