Obituary of Eileen Bass Kennedy

Eileen Bass Kennedy, 102, formerly of Marcellus, passed away peacefully at home. Born in Spafford, NY, Eileen was a 1933 graduate of Tully High School. She worked many years at the St. Mary's Maternity and Infant Hospital, Syracuse. Eileen worked for the US Postal Service in Marietta for more than 30 years, retiring in 1974 as Postmaster. She was a past member of Tuscarora Golf Club. Her husband of 57 years Lawrence John "Jack" Kennedy died in 1998. Eileen is survived by many nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law Helen Kennedy. Eileen's family would like to send a special "Thank you." to her second family of Brookdale and private caregivers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday, December 30th in The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, Onondaga Hill, Syracuse. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
