William Kelly

Obituary of William P. Kelly

William "Bill" Kelly, 83, of Marcellus passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday evening. Born in 1936, Bill was a man with an incredibly generous spirit, one who always offered a helping hand to friends and family in need. He worked at Crouse Hinds for 32 years and after retirement worked for 10 years at Nojaim Bros. of Marcellus.

Bill loved spending time at his camp on the St. Lawrence River watching the ships and fishing, or "drowning worms" as he called it. He also enjoyed attending Syracuse games with his friends and family, although he wishes they would have won a little more. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a proud member and past Commander of American Legion Ralph Share Post 297.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years Kathy; two children Shawn of Syracuse and Martin (Megan) of Oneida; four grandchildren Colleen, Kassie, Kennedy and William; siblings Mary Martin, Margie (Tom) Esterguard and Jim (Kathleen) Kelly; many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 6pm, with an American Legion Service at 6pm, both held Wednesday, November 6th at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9am Thursday, November 7th in St. Francis Xavier Church, One W. Main Street, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Legion Ralph Share Post 297 or Taunton Fire Department.
