Obituary of Philip J. Sutter

Philip "Joe" Sutter, 89, of Marcellus died Tuesday. Joe had worked many years for Dunk and Bright Furniture Co. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, reaching the rank of 2nd Lieutenant as a Bombardier on a B24 with the 4th Air Force. Joe and his wife June spent 35 happy years fishing from their cottage on Otisco Lake, and enjoyed 20 years in Mt. Dora, Florida after retiring. June passed away December 10, 2011. They were married 61 years. Surviving are his children Philip J. Sutter Jr. of Florida and Sheree (Doug) Miller of Marcellus; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9am Friday in St. Francis Xavier Church, 1 W. Main St., Marcellus. Burial will be at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to MAVES or Hospice of CNY.
