Obituary of Joseph L. Macfadden Jr.
Joseph L. Macfadden Jr., 80, of Jensen Beach, FL and formerly of Marcellus, NY passed away July 25, 2019 with his wife Susan by his side. Born in Brockton, MA, Joe moved to Syracuse, NY in 1949. He was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy and joined the Army Reserve.
Joe retired from Cayuga Community College, Auburn, NY in 2001 as Director of Buildings and Grounds. He moved to Florida in 2003, was active in Pine Lake Village Community and enjoyed golf. Joe loved spending time with family.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years Susan; children Jennifer (Chris Finkle) Macfadden, Jerilyn (Chris) Price, Jon Macfadden, Lori (Steve) Woods, Debbie (John) Nicowski, David (Tracy) Nappi, and Stephen (Mike Zarella) Nappi; his brother Robert Macfadden; sisters Joan Butler and Jean (Joseph) Lounsbury; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday, August 2 from 4 to 6pm at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main St., Marcellus. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated 10:30am Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Church, 1 W. Main Street, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
