Obituary of Faith Alcelia Nolan

Faith Alcelia Nolan, 81, of Lafayette passed away unexpectedly at home March 8, 2019. She was the daughter of the late John Patrick and Eleanor Nolan. Faith graduated from Syracuse University receiving her Masters degree. She was a social worker for the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, working in Rome and Syracuse areas. She volunteered with the Red Cross participating in FEMA Emergency Response Team, providing services throughout the east coast.

Faith loved to travel and truly enjoyed all people. She was supportive and active in the Boy Scouts of America. She was an avid camper, hiker, canoeist and lover of nature. To know her is to love her.

Faith was predeceased by her husband Peter Stangnowski; sons Tom, Mark and Davis Strangnowski and daughter Lydia Riestrom. Also her sister Kathy Lane and brother Spencer Nolan.

Left to cherish her memories are her brothers Paul (Vickie) Nolan of Skaneateles and Jimmy Nolan of Washington State; brother-in-law Doug Lane of Florida; sister-in-law Mary Nolan of North Carolina; grandchildren Matt Reistrom of Syracuse, Thomas (Melissa) Stangnowski of Central Square, Jake and Amy Stangnowski of Syracuse and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 3pm, and a memorial service will immediately follow, both held Saturday, March 23rd at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus, with the Rev. Henry Ausby of Binghamton presiding.
