Obituary of Jack E. Shinnick
Jack E. Shinnick, 80, a lifelong resident of Onondaga Hill, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 11, 2018. He was a graduate of Onondaga Central School and Powelson Business Institute.
Jack owned and operated the Mr. Fixit Shop on South Salina Street for 31 years with his wife Joan, before retiring in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1956 -1964.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Goldie Shinnick, and sister Laura Ireland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan (Radway) Shinnick, sister Nancy Smith of Henderson, NC, brother-in-law Stanley Ireland of Onondaga Hill, sister-in-law Cheryl (Michael) Flannery of Onondaga Hill, and several loving nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Amber Congregational Church, Amber, NY, with memorial funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Amber Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Amber Congregational Church, 2366 Otisco Valley Rd., Marietta, NY 13110, or a local charity of your choice.
