Obituary of John L. "Jack" O'Shea
John L. "Jack" O'Shea, 95, life resident of Marcellus, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Loretto in Syracuse after a brief illness. Jack was a 1940 graduate of Marcellus Central School and attended both Syracuse University and Colgate University. He was a WWII Marine Corps Veteran, serving in the Marine Corps detachment of the USS Washington. Jack retired from the Scotsman Press. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus.
Jack was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, the former Avis Goodison and his son Kevin M. O'Shea, both in the year 2002.
Surviving Jack are his son J. Terry O'Shea of Pulaski; several cousins and longtime best friend Dick Pikarski of Marcellus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9am Wednesday, November 8th in St. Francis Xavier Church, One West Main Street, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
