Obituary of John F. Glover

John F. Glover, 91, of Marcellus passed away at Loretto on January 18, 2017, after a brief illness. John was a life resident of Marcellus, graduating in 1942 from Marcellus High School and was a veteran having served in the US Navy. He worked many years as a heavy equipment transporter, retiring in 1988. John was an avid New York Yankees and SU Basketball fan. His biggest passion was fishing the waters of Central New York. He was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Barbara, his son David, and his dear friend Shirley Pierik. Surviving are his children Sharon Glover (Dennis Jones) of Steamboat Springs, CO, Cathy (George) Mason of Marcellus and Tim (Michele) Glover of Watertown; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and two brothers Paul of Camillus and Bill (Martha) of Westvale. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6pm, Wednesday, January 25, with the funeral service to follow, both held at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. Burial will be the next morning, 11am Thursday in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. Contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 177, Marcellus, NY 13108.
