Obituary of Annette L. (Kinyon) Raus
Annette L. (Kinyon) Raus, 84, lifelong resident of Marietta, N.Y. Born to the late Donald and Esther Kinyon, August 17, 1940. She was a Graduate of Marcellus High School. Annette was very passionate about her love of Farming and her beloved Registered Jersey Cows. She owned and operated Kinland Jersey Farm. A Family Farm rich in history and hard work. In her efforts to protect the Watershed of Otisco Lake she received the Conservation Farm of the Year Award in 2003. She was honored to receive The Century Farm Award in 2011, for a Family Farm owned and operated continuously over 100 years.
Annette was predeceased by her sister Rosalie Nieznalski, Twin siblings, Joan Sandberg – Kinyon and John (Jack) Kinyon.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Alan) Briggs, Brenda (Dennis) Quinlan, James Raus, William (Karen) Raus and Laraine Rapple (David Brown); 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Jeff Kent for countless hours spent repairing equipment and enduring friendship.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time, when the barn chores are done! Annette will be laid to rest at Pine Ridge Cemetery.
