Obituary of Michael "Mickey" Shoemaker

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025 Michael "Mick/Mickey" Earl Shoemaker, age 70, passed peacefully at the Cortland Gutherie Hospital after unexpected and sudden health complications.

Mickey grew up in Spafford, NY and graduated from Homer High School in 1973. Mickey was known for his exceptional welding skills and creativity. He worked for many years at G.A. Braun, Inc.

He was an incredible son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He had a sense of humor that was unmatched and contagious. Mickey made sure that we all knew how much he loved us and how proud he was of his family. To know him, was to love him.

Mickey was predeceased by his father, Earl K. Shoemaker. He is survived by his mother Barbara A. (Cole) Shoemaker; sister Nancy (Mike) Tierney; brothers Joel (Cheryl) Shoemaker, Matthew (Tammy) Shoemaker; daughters Michelle (Dusty) Pas'cal, Theresa (Ben) Ireland and Lauren (Zach) Ferrera, as well as his 9 beautiful grandchildren, Ryley, Tatumn, Jude, Ayla, Finnly, Maeve, Carlin, Stella and Jensen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

Please join us Thursday May 22, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm at Ryan Funeral Home in Marcellus, NY to celebrate the free-spirited life of Mickey Shoemaker. He lived every day the way he wanted to and to its fullest.
