Obituary of Donald J. Muldoon

Donald J. Muldoon, 89, of Marcellus died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Van Duyn. Donnie was a 1947 graduate of Marcellus Central School and worked many years for the Marcellus – Otisco Lake Railroad. He was an Army Infantry Korean War Veteran and was a past member of the American Legion Valley Post 1468 and a member of the Marcellus American Legion Ralph Share Post 297. Donnie was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. He worked 35 years for Local Union #633, retiring in 1989. Donnie was a life member of the NRA and a member of the Mad River Gun Club, the Otisco Lake Rod & Gun Club, and the National Trappers Association. He was a NYS Nuisance Trapper. Donnie was an avid bowler and a member of The Greater Syracuse Travelers League. Donnie was predeceased by his sister Jean Caza and his brothers Robert Jr., John, James and Paul. Surviving are his brother Gerald of Marcellus; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5pm, with an American Legion service at 5pm, both held on Sunday, November 13, at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A prayer service will be 8:30am Monday, November 14, at the funeral home, and a Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 177, Marcellus, NY 13108.
