Obituary of Mary Glover Murphy
Mary Glover Murphy, 88, of Marcellus passed away on September 15, 2015 surrounded by her large loving family.
Mary was born September 5, 1927 on Glover Road in Marcellus to the late Emmett and Elizabeth Dooley Glover. She worked many years for and retired from the Onondaga County Department of Social Services. Mary enjoyed gardening, picking flowers and berries on Glover Road, traveling and caring for her family. She gave her heart and soul to being a loving servant to all.
Mary was also predeceased by her four brothers Edward, Leo, Gerry and Russell.
Surviving Mary are Vincent J. Murphy, her devoted husband of 65 years, her best friend and one true love; their six children, including twins Donna and Dan, Liz, Ken, Anne and Mary Ann, and their spouses. Mary was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm Friday, September 18, 2015 at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester and Finger Lakes Chapter, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
