Obituary of Lucy A. Taylor

Lucy A. (Flanagan)Taylor, 90, of Marcellus, passed away peacefully at St Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center on January 19, 2017. Lucy was born in February 1926 in Otisco, NY to Edward and Josie Flanagan. She was a graduate of Tully Central School and attended business school in Syracuse. The quote under her senior picture was "still waters run deep" which described the quiet, thoughtful Lucy we all knew and loved. Lucy worked at General Electric and Hubbards Drug before becoming a devoted dairy farmer's wife. She married John E. Taylor in January 1945 and together they raised their family. Lucy enjoyed watching hummingbirds at her feeder, attending family gatherings, and loved hearing news about her grandchildren. Lucy was predeceased by her husband John E., siblings Hollis, Harold, Mary Alice and Dorothy, children Thomas Edward and Eileen Frost, sons-in-law Ray Frost, Doug Perry, and Mark Hastedt. She is survived by her children Jack Taylor of Marcellus, Joanne Taylor Perry of Waynesville, NC, Patty (Harold) Muncy of Marietta, Jane Hastedt of Marcellus, Tom (Linda) Taylor of Marietta; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Helen Kelley of Grass Valley, CA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5pm Sunday, January 22nd at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A prayer service will be 8:30am Monday at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, One West Main Street, Marcellus. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Otisco. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
